The Tales and Travels of Taylor Made PA – Choosing the Right Holiday

Hello!
Choosing the Right Holiday
Everybody has their own idea of the perfect holiday.
For some it is luxury travel and laying on a beach.
For others its laid back retreats with limited facilities and immersing themselves in the local culture.
However you like to travel, there are always key considerations to make.
Budget
Like with any planning in life, its always best to start with a budget in mind and do your best to stick to it.
Budget can be about compromise but that doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone.
Standard of Accommodation
So the costings have come in and that 5-star luxury resort in your dreams is more expensive than you hoped. It doesn’t have to mean downgrading – consider changing the duration. Costed up 14-days, then why not consider going for 10 or 12 nights instead.
Or ask for recommendations of a similar property that may have an offer available.
Changes the Dates or Duration
Consider a twin centre and a cheaper resort for the other centre. Or if you can be flexible on your dates, see if you can save money by going a few days before or after your preferred option.
Change the Airline
If you have looked at the most direct options, consider travelling via another hub.
Travelling to the USA, consider travelling with Aer Lingus via Dublin or Iceland Air via Reykjavik.
Travelling to Africa, Middle East and the Indian Ocean, consider travelling with KLM via Amsterdam or Air France via Paris.
Travelling to Australia, consider alternative airlines like Royal Brunei or Qatar.
I flew to Australia with Royal Brunei in 2013 and they were fantastic! Coming back we had a 5-hour layover so they met us at the gate and offered to take us on a City Tour. It cost about £25 and was brilliant! We saw the Sultans Palaces, the River Homes and they left us to explore the Night Markets before taking us back and fast tracking us back to the gate. Well worth it!
Dream Destinations
But in some cases you may have a dream destination and therefore consider compromise on the standard of the hotel.
Rather than a 5-star luxury resort, consider a 3-star hotel. Just look for the facilities and location that works for you. As long as the hotel is clean and safe and offers everything else to meet your expectations.
Eco Holidays
Over the past few years we have seen a rise in holidays that offer eco credentials. From Virgin Voyages to Outback Adventures.
