The Tales and Travels of Taylor Made PA – February Holidays
Published 21.02.2021
Hello!
February Holidays!
Apart from those travelling for Half Term or Skiing, February may not always be the first choice for a holiday, but I have had some great holidays departing in February!
1997 – I visited the Seychelles and Mauritius
1999 – I headed for a girls trip to Jamaica for my friends 30th birthday
2002 – I went on a fabulous “Fam Trip” to the East Coast of Australia
2013 – I flew to Australia to be Bridesmaid at my cousins wedding in Melbourne
Let me tell you about a couple of them.
Seychelles & Mauritius
The Seychelles and Mauritius are two of the most beautiful places on earth. I had the privilege of a British Airways “Breakaway” Holiday purely for Travel Agents. We flew out Business Class to Mahe, the capital of the Seychelles for a 3 night stay.
There was only 6 Agents on the trip and 4 of us decided to hire a jeep and explore the Island. We drove around stopping at the most picturesque and secluded beaches with not a soul in site. Heaven really is a place on Earth.
Flying onto Mauritius for 4 nights we stayed in a French style All-inclusive Resort at Belle Mare along the untamed East Coast of Mauritius. It is no longer there sadly, but was built around a fabulous pool with brightly decorated colours and the most beautiful beach setting.
We hired bikes this time – I think a jeep would have been better with hind sight – and rode out to the Île aux Cerfs, a privately owned island which you can take day trips to by boat.
Jamaica
In 1999 my friend and I headed to Jamaica to celebrate her 30th birthday. We stayed in an All-inclusive Resort in Runaway Bay.
We started the week by booking a “must see” and took a trip to the beautiful Dunns River Falls near Ocho Rios, where we climbed the famous waterfall.
Our next adventure was a Horse Riding Trip through a Sugar Plantation to the beach. Having ridden all my life, this was a dream come true. Cantering through the waves. I treasure this memory more than ever as I was to have a significant fall from a horse a few month later and didn’t ride again for a decade.
We then had a trip around the Frozen Cocktail Menu. Probably not the best idea before a last planned trip to the Famous Blue Mountains! Especially when the trip ends at the Appleton Rum Plantation for a tasting session!
